- At least four people have died after a shooting in the tourist area of Cancun, Mexico. It has happened on the beach in front of a luxury hotel.
At the moment two people have been arrested. This was reported by the Attorney General’s Office of the state of Quintana Roo.
The shooting occurred next to the Fiesta Americana Condesa Hotel. Agents responded to a report of gunshots.
When they arrived at the scene they found the lifeless bodies of three people between 25 and 30 years of age. After the search operation, a fourth body was found.
These events caused that the State Executive has launched a special security plan on the occasion of Semana Santa which includes the deployment of more than 5,000 troops.
